This 3 1/2 story sculpture reflects both natual light by day and colored light in the evening creating two very distinctive atmospheres.
"Hanging Innocence" was commissioned for a printing company's second entryway that was converted from a three-story elevator shaft that is 10' X 10'. Two extra six' by six' windows were added to the space to be able to view the sculpture from the street.
The colored spotlights add to the unique lighting effect on the blank, white walls to futher enhance the visual effects.
The sculpture consists of roughly fourteen pieces of hand formed acrylic painted with colored resin including a four foot, blue square and a four foot, red circle. The sculpture is suspended at three stories high. This view is taken from ground level looking up at the sculpture. It is meant to replicate the look of blown glass.
To view this sculpture in person, visit Charlotte, North Carolina at N. Poplar and Fourth Street.
The technique for all of the acrylic sculpture has a patent pending.
